====Illustration des Knotensatzes für spezielle Potenziale:==== Die zu E1 oder E1´ gehörigen Funktionen besitzen einen Knoten. Nur die Funktion zu E1 ist jedoch eine Eigenfunktion. Die Funktion zu E1´´ weist bereits 2 Knoten auf. Bei E0 existieren keine Knoten bei E0, E0´und E0 ´´. Allerdings ist nur die zu E0 gehörige Funktion eine Eigenfunktion. Die Funktion zu E0´´´ hat bereits einen Knoten, jedoch ist diese keine Eigenfunktion. Das zugehörige Potenzial <math>V(x)\to \infty </math>für <math>x\to a,b</math>. Also KEIN Parabelpotenzial! Die Randbedingungen seien <math>\phi (a)=\phi (b)=0</math>. Die Forderung <math>\phi (a)=0</math>kann zu jedem E erfüllt werden. Und zwar durch Linearkombination zweier linear unabhängiger Lösungen. Im Allgemeinen ist dann jedoch :<math>\phi (b)\ne 0</math>. Verschiebt man E so, dass auch <math>\phi (b)=0</math>, so trifft man die speziellen, diskreten Eigenwerte. zwischen 2 Eigenwerten muss immer ein weiterer Knoten vom Rand ins Innere wandern.
