=Bremsstrahlung= Elektronen werden durch das Coulombfeld der Atome des Anodenmaterials abgelenkt. Der damit einhergehende Verlust von kinetischer Energie der Elektronen wird in Form von Lichtquanten als sog. Bremsstrahlung emittiert. Die Bremsstrahlung erzeugt ein kontinuierliches Spektrum. Die Energie der Lichtquanten der Bremsstrahlung ergibt sich aus der Differenz der kinetischen Elektronen vor und nach der Abbremsung zu: :<math>\Delta E=h \nu=E_{kin,vorher}-E_{kin,nachher}=1/2 m_e*(v_{vorher}^2-v_{nachher}^2)</math> {{Quelle|PhIng|GL 22.1}}
